Charlotte, NC — Construction Begins in Uptown

Track construction in uptown Charlotte around the Transit Center and the Time Warner Cable Arena began in late May and will impact auto traffic in the area. East Trade between the two facilities was to be closed during the construction, which was scheduled to last two months. The construction is complicated by the fact that includes special trackwork for the end of line where the streetcars will reverse direction.

Other stretches of street along the new route will be closed for track construction for varied periods until early September.

All track construction is on schedule for completion by March 2015.
