The Memphis Business Journalreports that he Memphis Area Transit Authority was awarded $2.2 million by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The funding is intended for repairs to the Main Street trolley line and to make improvements that will dovetail with the Memphis Main to Main Project, which is designed to connect Main Street in Memphis with Main Street in West Memphis, across the bridge in Arkansas. The new funding follows an award of $14.9 million a year earlier for the project.
