Baltimore — City Skips Symposium
December 2012
No official representatives of the City of Baltimore attended a symposium held by business and civic leaders interested in developing a streetcar line in the Charles Street corridor, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Around 50 leaders did attend the symposium and lunch at the Baltimore Museum of Art in early December. Participants suggested the city's absence was explained by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake's support of the Red Line light rail project as the top rail transit priority in the city. No comment was forthcoming from the mayor's office.
Many high profile leaders from business, educational institutions, religious groups, and community organizations participated in the symposium and support streetcar construction.
