El Paso, TX — Preliminary Work Begins

El Paso television station KFOX reports that preliminary construction work, including utility relocation, was slated to begin on Monday, December 7 for the city's heritage streetcar line to be operated by ex-El Paso City Lines PCCs rehabilitated by Brookville Equipment Corp. of Pennsylvania. The PCCs will be equipped with pantographs for the route stretching from just north of the Mexican border through downtown to the University of Texas-El Paso campus. The project by the west Texas city is being financed entirely with state funds.
Work was scheduled to run from December 7 to 18, then resume on January 3 after a holiday break. |
