El Paso, TX — Ridership Falters

KFPX 14 reports that ridership on El Paso's new streetcar line has fallen since the opening surge when no fares were being charged. November ridership had been 37,000 right after service began. Ridership dropped to 9,000 in February after fares were instituted. Various measures are being implented to boost ridership including building shelters at stops and developing an app that will show streetcar location.
