Fort Lauderdale, FL
Planners in this Florida city considered a downtown streetcar
circulator, much as similar ideas were under consideration a few miles south in
Miami. In 2012 the possibility became a very strong probability with the award of an $18 million TIGER grant by the Federal government. After years of intensive planning escalating costs and a change in political leadership resulted in the project being cancelled in Spring 2018.
