A modern streetcar system may someday emerge in Indianapolis if tentative planning by a group of business and civic leaders comes to fruition. They have formed the Downtown
Indianapolis Streetcar Corp., with Indiana Railroad president Tom Hoback as chairman, and have hired nationally-respected consultant Jim Graebner to conduct a feasibility study
of possible routes, capital costs and other factors. Financing would come from both public and private sources, according to the corporation's promotional material.
