The www.newsobserver.com site reports that the streetcar project encountered an obstacle as the City Urban Renewal Authority's Board of Commissioners chose not to vote on one of the proposed routes.

At least one commissioner questioned aspects of the project, such as whether it will really promote economic development and whether overhead wires will have a negative impact on the streetscape.

Others report excitement about the potential on the part of downtown businesses or residents.
