Safety Drill Finds Faults
The newsok.com site reported that a streetcar emergency drill—a critical component of certifying the safety of a new streetcar line—uncovered some communication and other issues that could hamper or delay first responders in a real emergency. The simulated accident was designed to uncover just such problems. No delay to the start of streetcar service is anticipated, but new procedures will have to be developed and implemented before final safety approval is granted.

Police Working to Prevent Parking Problems
TV station KFOR Channel 4 reports that city police have been working to educate drivers and avert the problem of improperly parked cars blocking streetcars. Cars that are not parked inside white lines will be subject to ticketing and towing.
