Tacoma — LRT Continues

The first tracks for the Tacoma Link light rail project are expected to be set in place by Nov. 19 starting west of D Street on 25th Street and continuing toward Pacific Avenue.  Rail welding at three sites is complete but continues at the operations and maintenance facility.  Rail will remain stored in these areas until used.  Meanwhile sidewalk and utility work is continuing between D and A streets while a holiday construction moratorium is in effect on 25th Street from G to D streets in the Dome District.  The Operations and Maintenance Facility is now over 70 percent complete.  Work continues on trackwork layout in the yard and on finishing the building’s interior.
